Memories of Rodney Carroll
The love of my life for 27 years, Rodney Carroll, passed away on April 17th, 2010 at Shelby Hospital from the Swine Flu. He and I were blessed with 2 wonderful sons, Eddie, age 24 and Zac, about to turn 22. We had our frist grandson, Braylon in June 2008. He was the light in Rodney's eyes. Even the week he was first getting sick he took Braylon out to ride on the golf cart and to play ball. PawPaw Rodney loved that boy soooo much. We had found out that our next grandchild was to be a little girl. If anyone knew Rodney they knew he was beside himself waiting for his little girl. Ellie Grace was born on July 3, 2010. She will never know the love pawpaw already had for her and how much she would have had him wrapped around her little finger. Our 3rd grandbaby, Preston, was born 9 months and 58 minutes after his Pawpaw left this walk of life. My heart hurts so bad that Rodney wanted grandkids more than anything and now they have to grow up without knowing what a wonderful, loving, gentle, hero of a pawpaw they had. If God lets me live though they will hear all about him!
If you dont remember Rodney or never met him it's so sad because those that did remember those big ole' hugs and I Love You! he gave to everyone.
In high school he was a little hot tempered and had a voice that everyone loved to hear. Remember "Bama Jam" and him singing "Rocky Top"? But as the years went by he became the most gentle loving man anyone could ask for and he loved hearing out son, Zac, sing more than singing himself.
Rodney went into the hosptial on our 27th wedding anniversary, March 25, and after trying so hard for 23 days God took him to his resting place.
He was my heart, my soul and the love of my life....but I can truely say.....HE LOVED ME ENOUGH FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!
I miss you baby!
